Christmas Party 2006-Membership Has Grown
Since!
THE SHUTTERBUGS is a group of amateur photo
enthusiasts living in and around Alhaurin de la
Torre. They gathered together for their
inaugural meeting on January 13, 2005 and after
just over one year, they all feel that they
have impressed themselves with how far they
have come with their photographic skills and
the enjoyment they have received from their
efforts! Both digital and single reflex cameras
are used, however, the group has tended to
favor the digital and has endeavored to learn
more about digital photography enhancement by
sharing knowledge and using several computer
programs. This is a typical type of group
discussion when holding an “in house” meeting.
The group meets twice a month on a Friday. Once a month the group meets at Sol Andalusi from 2 to 4 PM for an in-house session. The other meeting is normally an outside photo shoot at a selected location, with a particular subject matter and the assignment is for each member to present two photos for judging. Two weeks later, the group meets to review the photos and judge the two winners by secret ballot. These winning photographs are then displayed at Sol Andalusi and are also available to view on the T.A.P.A.S. web site. After judging the photos and discussing them, a pre-arranged subject is then reviewed with discussion and/or hands on activity. Photo shoot outings are scheduled approximately 2 or 3 sessions in advance and depending upon the location, a lunch is organized for the group to further enhance the day. Sometimes we might have in-house photo shoots such as Portraits or Still Life.
In addition to the regular photographic shoots, the group has an ongoing Special Project photo which is done on an individual basis over a period of approximately 3 months. In the past we have had projects such as “Mystery Objects” and “Christmas Scenes”. The next Special Project is “Enticing Food”!
Please have a look at THE SHUTTERBUGS Photo Shoot Winners and other member photographs from the past year, all here on the web site. You will also find more information about upcoming photo shoots and special events.
